A small red brick house in historic Cheverly, MD. Originally, it had a tiny enclosed kitchen with electrical stove that the client wanted to change for gas. The room was dark and nonfunctional. The existing cabinets made you feel claustrophobic and there were so many of them in such a small space. We also removed the wall between the kitchen and living room.  This allowed one big space for cooking and entertaining with new cabinets, flooring, new appliances, including professional gas stove and built-in microwave.  The focal point of the kitchen is a beautiful marble mosaic wall with including a slick modern hood. During the renovation my client changed her mind about adding more wall cabinets because she liked the open and airy feeling so much. The "splurge" part of this project was the gorgeous granite countertop.
