Small red brick house in historical Cheverly, MD, tiny inclosed kitchen with electrical stove which client wants to change for gas. The room is dark and nonfunctional. The existing cabinets make you feel claustrophobic, there are so many all of them in a small space. We removed the wall between kitchen and living room, now it one big space for cooking and entertaining with new cabinets, flooring, new appliances including professional gas stove, build-in microwave. Focal point of the kitchen is beautiful marble mosaic wall with slick modern hood. During the renovation my client changed her mind about adding more wall cabinets because she liked the open and airy feeling so much. And the splurge of this project was the gorgeous granite countertop.
